So a few things have come to pass since our last post! We've took a little step back in order to make room for a giant leap forwards.. The original plan was to actively seek places that would allow us to play longer gigs and to play more gigs per week but alas life got in the way a little. For now we'll just see what nice opportunities cross our path and an open mic here and there to keep us focussed.
One of the bigger things in the last period was the House Gala @ Papageno Huis. Not that this was a gig for Lucie J & Exanimo but we had other reasons. For those of you who do not know it yet, we also have a number of other projects. One of that projects is H'ArtSnaar.
With this company we are trying to teach confidence and self love through music and art. This House Gala was the turning point from doing the work as a volunteer to the possibility to hire us for gigs. The end of an era.
But the end of an era is often also the start of a new one. In this case also true. Music Café is the new job for H'ArtSnaar. Once a month an open podium like setting for people who are on or off the spectrum. The first two editions were a huge success so two more and then evaluate!
One of the gigs in the last period was 41up. Bit of a special case since the PA that was in café Averechts could not be used for some reason? We'll we'd ended up dividing, the artists, the stuff that was needed for the open mic. The sound was kind of okay, but a loud crowd and no monitor speakers was not the best combo to say the least.
Next up was Huis van Eemnes. I think it's safe to say that this was one of the gigs with the best sound. The hosts were amazingly kind and everything was well organized. Because of this I think it's safe to say that it was one of the best gigs we played so far! See for yourself!
The same people who organized the gigs in Baarn and Eemnes also organized the open mic at the Vorstin. It was so good to be back there, the last time it did not end so well (understatement of the year), but this time it went great!
Our last gig was in theatercafé Muze, also in Hilversum. Fun little café with a kind (and very peppy) host. The enthusiasm was infectious!
As we've said before, we're taking a little step backward in order to be ready for launch when everything kind of cools down. Focusing on writing and rehearsing. We also have an extra band member, albeit a digital one. Extra rehearsals with the goal of presenting our newest member in 2024.
The main event, at least for now, is gonna be Gluren bij de Buren on the 4th of February. The location will be revealed this month, we’ll keep you posted. We’ll have 3x 30 min play time. Instead of 1 set we repeat 3 times we’ll play 3 different sets, woop!
