It has been a little while and a lot has happened in the meantime! We wanted to do a blogpost after the gig at the Vorstin, but life got in the way. As they say, life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.
The gig itself was a major rush. Amazingly warm welcome, superb sound and an attentive audience. We believe it was our best gig thus far, but that's something we say a lot and then the next gig is even better. Something with First World Problems.
Another thing in the category of awesome things are awesome is the very first album we've released on Spotify. It was quite a hassle to get everything going and there were a gazillion forms to fill in, but we did it! And now we can say to people: "you can find us on Spotify". If that does not make us even more awesome, I don't know what will.
With the album release party date closing in, there were more and more things to take care of but we managed to pull it off. The bar was manned, the sound wizard did a super nice job with the sound (and took care of all the musical equipment and stuff). With these things taken care of we could not only play, but also enjoy playing and being able to convey our emotions to the audience.
The night before we had a 45 minute slot to play in Café 't Opkikkertje in den Bosch. This was a good last rehearsal and in the end we were the only ones who were there to play so we could play everything that was on the album. Yes! We had an amazing crowd of two bar keepers, two other people and 3500 frogs. A few of the frogs we were able to cover up with our new flag (!) So less froggy eyes on our back. It was an awesome place to play with very friendly staff and good sound. Guitar was squeaky as fuck, but that happens when you have to change strings before a gig.
We drove 1 hour, played an hour and drove an hour back. Kinda hectic with the album release the next day, but it was very nice to have a last rehearsal in front of an army of frogs.
On the drive back, at 00:00, the Spotify link came online!! SPOTIFY!! damn!! Happiness meter flew through the roof of the car. What an amazing feeling. Still can't fathom the reality of it all, but amazing nonetheless.
The album release party itself was an overwhelming succes. The support acts Hugo Daniel and Hartwin, friends and super talented musicians from Open Mic Amersfoort, did an amazing job. Goosebumps! Also way more people then expected and hoped. So blessed to be able to share the birth of our first musical baby with so many wonderful people. A-fucking-mazing.
Next week we'll be playing another 45 min set at the festival Bende van Niekark. Streams Brede Beek listed us as upcoming talent and we get to open the festival. Crazy times in our bullet train on the way to being awesome.
Because awesome things are awesome!
